I´m currently a senior research associate at the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia, UK. I'm involved in the Greenland Flow Distortion Experiment (GFDex) investigating how Greenland distorts the atmospheric flow over and around it. We had a field campaign in 2007 basing ourself in Iceland. You can read about it on the GFDex website.
I'm mainly interested in the impact of orography on the atmospheric flow on a local, synoptic and global scale. My mountain of interest is Greenland, the third largest mountain in the Northern Hemisphere. I'm also interested in the predictability of the atmosphere and have done some work on targeted observations.
I am in interested in all kinds of weather but I find mid- to high latitude weather, especially in connections with cyclonic activity, the most interesting.
